Josep Guardiola is no stranger to a selection curveball in big games, but the most obvious question marks appear to be over the identities of his left-back and holding midfielder. Oleksandr Zinchenko and club captain Fernandinho got the nod for the semi-final second leg, providing leadership and a greater accent on defence; João Cancelo and Rodri are more attacking options.

While all seemed well and settled for the Blues when they beat Real Madrid and then followed that up with a Premier League win against City, they've since lost three of the last four, including the FA Cup final, leading Thomas Tuchel to admit they were "lucky" that Spurs' win at Leicester secured a top-four finish.

There have been injury worries over two key men – midfield star N'Golo Kanté suffered a hamstring injury and missed the defeat to Aston Villa, while Edouard Mendy went off with a rib injury in the loss at Villa Park – but Tuchel confirmed a clean bill of health at Friday's press conference.
