Who will be in the 2022 Europa League final?
The Europa League final will be contested by Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers, the two leading scorers in the competition with 20 and 22 goals respectively. The Scottish side have already eliminated two German clubs in the knockout stages: Dortmund in the knockout round play-offs, and Leipzig in the last four.
Frankfurt have lifted the trophy before, though, defeating domestic rivals Mönchengladbach 4-3 over two legs in 1980. Rangers lost 2-0 to Zenit in Manchester in 2008, their only previous final in the last season of the UEFA Cup before the competition was rebranded.
When does the Europa League final take place and what's the kick-off time?
The game will be played on Wednesday 18 May, kicking off at 21:00 CET.
Where is the Europa League final being played?
Seville's Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium will host the 2022 final.
In continuous use since 1958, the arena staged games at the 1982 FIFA World Cup and was also the venue for Steaua Bucureşti’s 1986 European Cup final shoot-out success aganst Barcelona. It has a capacity exceeding 40,000.
Host club Sevilla hold a special place in the history of the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League, having won the competition a record six times; twice as the UEFA Cup and four more times in the UEFA Europa League era, most recently in 2019/20.
Has Seville hosted a European final before?
This will be Seville's third UEFA club competition final and, if history is any guide, it will not be an early night.
The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium staged Steaua's shock penalty shoot-out victory over Barcelona in the 1986 European Cup final. If he wasn't the hero after keeping the Catalan giants out for 120 minutes, Romanian goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam was he saved four penalties in a 2-0 win on spot-kicks.
There was more goalmouth action in 2003 across town at the Estadio La Cartuja, venue for the 2003 UEFA Cup final. Cheered on by the lucky minority of 80,000 travelling fans, Celtic pushed Porto all the way, but Derlei's extra-time goal sealed it for José Mourinho's men.
What's the format of the Europa League final?
If the score is equal at the end of normal time, two 15-minute periods of extra time are played. If one of the teams scores more goals than the other during extra time, that team are declared the winners.
If the score is still equal after extra time, the winners are determined by kicks from the penalty mark.

What do the winners get?
The UEFA Europa League trophy is, at 15kg, the heaviest piece of UEFA silverware. To make things extra interesting, it also has no handles.
The winning team are presented with 40 gold medals and the runners-up with 40 silver medals. Additional medals may not be produced.
The winners also gain a place in the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League group stage, if they have not qualified via their domestic competition.
Who are the 'home' team?
The nominal home team was decided by a draw made for administrative purposes on 18 March. The winners of semi-final 2 – Frankfurt – will be the 'home' side in the showpiece on 18 May.
Who will wear what kit in the final?
Both finalists may wear their first-choice colours, but if there is a clash then the club designated as the away team – Rangers – must use an alternative kit.
